Outboard cooling water stopped

Problem

The outboard engine runs but no cooling water is coming out of the tell-tale outlet (the small “pee stream”).

Fix

1. 1

   Locate the tell-tale outlet on the engine cowling. Insert a small wire or zip tie into the outlet to clear salt crystals or debris.

2. 2

   If the stream is still blocked, flush the engine with fresh water using flushing muffs or a hose adapter.

3. 3

   If water still does not flow, the water pump impeller may need replacement.
